Though I graduated high school I was a mid-term grad leaving in January for the Navy. So when the rest of you were receiving your diplomas May 22, 1979 I was attending military specialist training in Denver, CO and starting life. I spent 13 years in the Navy as an Intelligence Specialist at CPR-4 Norfolk, VA 79-82, VF-124 NAS Miramar, CA 82-85, and VQ-2 & AIMD NAS Rota Spain 88-91 where I met my best friend Shawna, "and made her my wife." During my military career I was fortunate to have been able to travel to eighteen different countries in Europe and Asia. Graduated from Southern Illinois University with a B.S. in Workforce Education and Training Management “Go Salukis!” Married twice with two children from each marriage, did my part to contribute to the American statistic of 50% divorce rate. Currently the Operations Manager for Fun Beverage, Inc. in Kalispell, MT, "Gods Country,” where I enjoy life with my family riding our horses, skiing, working our land and of course hitting the little white ball.
A blur! I believe I graduated with a 1.79 GPA finding more ways to skip then attend. College a 3.78, my teachers were right when they said I was capable of more! But the parties and fun were great at the time and I have no regrets. Hell I am still having fun! I guess if I was going to recount a school story, “never to be shared with my children of course,” it would have to be the time I went to sleep in a classroom. I must start from the beginning. There were those of us who occasionally would partake in the consumption of cannabis during our lunch periods, “strictly for medicinal purposes mind you.” One such day while performing this ritual, I believe with Jennifer Ping, Steve Leuch and Mikey or Mary Berry could never keep them straight I believe I bit off more then I could chew pardon the pun. When I returned after lunch to Mr. Twaits’ History class and he observed me sitting at my desk holding my tongue, “I thought I was going to swallow it, bad weed I guess,” he directed me to the nurse’s office. Knowing I could not go there I found an empty classroom to lie down on the floor and sleep it off. Unbeknownst to me that a few minutes later there would be a class starting. I don’t know who was more shocked, me or the arriving students when one of them shook me to consciousness. Ah the memories. Hey, I apologize for all of the pictures and video but I must admit I have had a life full of fun and adventure and this gave me and opportunity to share and improve my video editing skills.
