NORFOLK -- Funeral service for Shelia M. Stusse, 58, of Pierce, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk with Michael Krier officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 14 at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk.
Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk is in charge of the arrangements.
Shelia Marie (Wendehl) Stusse, a long-time resident of Pierce, Nebraska entered heaven on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born on March 18, 1960 in Sioux City, Iowa to Alfred and LaVena (Bauerly) Wendehl.
Shelia was baptized and confirmed Catholic but converted to the Lutheran faith in 1982. Mrs. Stusse attended Irving Elementary, Woodrow Wilson Jr. High and was a graduate of Sioux City North High School all in the Sioux City Public School Systems. Shelia joined into marriage with Russell M. Stusse on May 15, 1982. 
She was a well versed employee as she worked for Duling Optical in Sioux City, Iowa right out of high school; she served as a para-educator at ESU 8 as well as the Norfolk Jr High School; Shelia ran a daycare out of her home for 10 years as well as a janitor for a couple of local schools. Shelia and Russ have owned and operated Elite Office Products in Pierce for the last 19 years of her life. 
In between refining her skills as an important employee, she had several hobbies that included enjoying friends and family at the camper in South Dakota. She loved fishing with her family, taking a chance at a slot machine or two at the casinos, making holiday cookies, candies, and hand painting ceramic ornaments to share with family. Shelia’s heart was especially full when she was around her family, but specifically being with her grandchildren laughing and playing. 
She was preceded in death by her father Alfred Wendehl (1974), her twins in infancy Nicholaus and Katherine Stusse (1986), her mother LaVena Wendehl (1998) and her sister Sandra Sullivan (2005).
Those who are her survivors include: Husband, Russell Stusse of Pierce, NE, son Ryan and wife Kalee, Afftynn, Ryan Jr, Kael, and Bria Stusse of Battle Creek; daughter Shannon and husband Seth Grote, Shealeigh and Hank Grote of Carlisle, IA; son Korey and wife Nicole, Olivia, Liam, Rhett, and LaVena Stusse of Valparaiso, FL; brother Steve Wendehl and spouse Sandy of Winterset, sister Sue Zortman and spouse Brian of Sioux Falls, SD; brother-in-law Gene Sullivan and Sandi Reiber of Huxley, IA; brother-in-law Monte Stusse and spouse Sue of Sioux City, IA. As well cherished by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and many friends. 
Casket bearers will be Ryan Stusse, Korey Stusse, Seth Grote, Brian Clark, Josh Sullivan, and Jared Jessen.
Honorary casket bearers will be Ryan Stusse Jr., Kael Stusse, and Liam Stusse.
